THE UNLOCK EXPERIENCE FOUNDATION
The Unlock Experience Foundation is a foundation based in Curaçao, dedicated to connecting youth and communities with their roots, voice, and power.
The focus is on social development, cultural preservation, awareness, and empowerment, within the Caribbean and beyond. We offer platforms, programs, and communities where young people can discover themselves, honor their past, celebrate their freedom, and create their future.

Our mission is to empower young people in the Caribbean and beyond to unlock their personal, cultural, creative, and societal potential, so that they can transform themselves and their environment in a positive way.
VISION
Our foundation strives for a society where past, present, and future come together in freedom, connection, and creativity.
We envision a world where young people:
- Are aware of their inner strength and cultural identity
- Are free to walk their own path and shape their future
- Actively contribute to building strong, resilient communities
- Through personal unlock moments, collectively help build a better, more conscious world

Our CORE VALUES:
AWARENESS – We encourage young people to become aware of their own story, their roots, their potential, and their role within society. Self-awareness forms the foundation for real change.
EMPOWERMENT – We believe in the power of young people to positively influence their environment through their own experience, strength, and talent. Unlock provides tools and experiences to develop self-confidence, leadership, and ownership.
CONNECTION – Unlock builds bridges: between generations, between cultures, between past and future. Connection is essential for collective growth, community, and solidarity.
CREATIVITY – Art, culture, and expression are central as means to make personal stories visible, address societal issues, and shape change.
HERITAGE – The history of slavery, heroic stories, and family history form a source of strength. Unlock honors the past and uses it as a source of inspiration for the future.
FUTURE-ORIENTED – Young people are encouraged not only to dream but also to build. We provide tools to become changemakers, creative entrepreneurs, and leaders of tomorrow.

ST/ART
A shared mission, a powerful program, a sustainable movement
The collaboration between ST/Art and the Unlock Experience Foundation emerged from a shared belief in the power of youth, art, and heritage as drivers of social change. Both organizations are committed to supporting young people in (re)discovering their identity, their voice, and their future, grounded in their own story and strength.
In the joint Unlock programs, we combine our expertise in community building, co-creation, and cultural expression. ST/Art offers a methodology that creates safe, creative transitional spaces where young people can be themselves, be heard, and take ownership. Unlock provides powerful content-driven programs in which young people explore their (Afro-)Caribbean roots, personal leadership, and creative potential.
Together, we build programs that not only help young people grow but also structurally contribute to an inclusive society in which their perspectives make a difference. This collaboration is more than a project; it is a shared movement where past, present, and future come together in freedom, connection, and creativity.
